Hope Cat Application
Public -by HAR of Iowa

Please complete the form and a volunteer of Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please be patient though as we all have full-time jobs. Requirements for potential adopters: *Veterinary reference check will be done for all potential adopters and all current animals (dog & cats) must be up-to-date on all required (rabies) vaccinations. *All current animals must be spayed/neutered. *Community restrictions on limit of animals will be followed. *Applicants must have never been convicted of any felonies, animal abuse laws., etc.  *Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to adopt from Hope Animal Rescue. Adoption Fees effective 06/01/2021: $75 Adults (age 1-8); $125 or 2 for $200 Kitten (under age 1); & $25 Seniors (age 8+) Credit Card Online or Cash Only Adoption fees include: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations; microchip, & any other medical necessity as deemed by our  feline lead in collaboration with one of our veterinarians. Flea/tick preventatives and deworming are standard treatments/preventatives for animals brought into our rescue. Although Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa tries to provide as much accurate information about each animal, Hope CANNOT make any guarantee about age, health, or temperament of the animal(s). Kittens - Please note that kittens that are not neutered/spayed, cannot be adopted to individuals/families outside a 45-minute radius of Des Moines due to Hope's veterinarian care providers, which are primarily located in Urbandale , West Des Moines, and Winterset. This would include kittens our months or younger and any that vetting (spay/neuter and other cares) is not complete. Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa does not allow declawing of any cats/kittens adopted from us ( it is in the contract you will sign). We believe that declawing(amputation) is not medically necessary and is inhumane. Declawing can cause behavioral and physical issues long term. Adult cats are FIV/FeLV tested and kittens are not typically tested unless there are concerns related to health symptoms or they are over 6 months at the time of spay/neuter.

The application is non-binding and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone. We are all volunteers and work tirelessly in hopes of finding the best fit from applicants for the feline fosters.
